1989 – Panama invaded, government overturned. 
            Threat to United States: None, though Noriega was complicit in U.S. drug trade.
1991 – Iraq invaded, more than 100,000 killed
            Threat to United States: None
1992-93 – Somalia invaded, thousands killed
            Threat to United States: None
1994 – Haiti invaded, government overturned
            Threat to United States: None
1995 – Bosnia invaded, government overturned
            Threat to United States: None
2001 -- Afghanistan invaded, government overturned 
            Threat to United States: Terrorism
2002 – Iraq invaded?
            Threat to United States: None
 
In the search for the evil empire, to quote Pogo, "We have met the enemy and he is us."
 
One might also add this:
    We did most of these things on behalf of the United Nations.
The United Nations gained power from these actions.
The United States gained casualties. and expense. and enemies all over the world.
Now we ask: WHY did 9-11-2001 happen?????
